What you'll get on show day

Everything you need to enjoy a busy show day, on a tool that respects your time, your data, and your battery.

Interactive map with GPS
Tap to find toilets, food, first aid, accessible facilities, event rings, and every vendor. The blue dot shows where you are, in real time, on the showground itself — no more squinting at a wet paper map.
Tap 'Remind me' on any event
See an event you want to catch? Tap 'Remind me' on it. Ten minutes before it starts, your phone buzzes. Browse the schedule, set as many reminders as you want — they all just work.
Live announcements from the organiser
Ring changes, weather warnings, lost-child alerts, schedule updates — delivered to your phone wherever you are on the showground, even when the PA can't reach you over the noise of 5,000 people.
Keeps working when signal drops
Once you've opened the show on your phone, the map, pins, and schedule save to your device automatically. When 5,000 people saturate the mobile signal, ShowDayGuide™ keeps working.
Dog policy at a glance
Dogs welcome? Indoor areas? Off-lead zones? Whether the food court is dog-friendly? It's all there before you set off — and the show's dog-friendliness rating tells you in one number.
Accessibility information
Step-free routes, accessible toilets, blue-badge parking, accessible viewing areas — where the organiser has provided this info, you'll find it clearly before you arrive.
We don't track or sell your data
No login, no account, no personal data collected to use ShowDayGuide™. We use minimal first-party analytics to help organisers understand attendance patterns — no third-party trackers, no advertising profiles, no data sales. Ever.
Free for visitors. Always.
ShowDayGuide™ is paid for by the show organiser, never by you. Some shows may offer an optional 'digital programme' upgrade later — entirely optional, and the core experience (map, schedule, announcements) is always free.
No app to download. No sign-up. No fuss.
ShowDayGuide™ opens in any smartphone's browser. Scan the QR code on the programme cover when you arrive, or save the link before you set off. That's it — no installs, no account, no permissions you don't want to give.
What a show day looks like

From the car park to the last event

The night before
Plan your day on the sofa
Find your show on the directory, open the schedule, tap 'Remind me' on the events you don't want to miss. Skim the dog policy and accessibility info. Save the link to your home screen for tomorrow.
On arrival
Park up, scan the QR
Scan the QR code on the printed programme or on a poster at the gate. The show's page opens in your phone's browser. No app to install.
During the day
Map, schedule, GPS, reminders
Use the map to find anything — toilets, food, first aid, your friend's stall. The blue dot follows you around the showground. Reminders ping ten minutes before each event you flagged.
When the PA fails
Announcements still get through
Ring change? Weather warning? Lost child? The organiser pushes the announcement out and it lands on your phone wherever you are — no need to be in earshot of the speakers.
After the show
Find the vendors you liked
Discovered a great vendor but didn't have time to chat? Their page stays live for days after the show (depending on their listing tier). Open it back up at home, tap through to their website, place an order.
FAQs

Questions other visitors asked first

Do I need to download an app?
No. ShowDayGuide™ runs entirely in your phone's web browser. When you arrive at a show, scan the QR code on the programme cover or a poster, and the show's page opens. You can also save it to your home screen for one-tap access next time. Works on any smartphone — iPhone or Android.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There's no login, no email signup, no personal details required. Open the show URL or scan the QR code and you're in. We don't track who you are — we just give you the map, schedule, and announcements for that show.
How do reminders work?
On the schedule, tap 'Remind me' on any event you want to catch. The first time you do this, your phone will ask if you want to allow notifications — tap Allow. From then on, every event you 'remind me' on triggers a notification ten minutes before it starts. Browse the schedule, tap reminders for everything you want to see, and your phone takes care of the rest.
Will it work if the signal is bad?
Yes — once you've opened the show on your phone, the map, pins, and schedule are saved to your device automatically. After that you can use ShowDayGuide™ even with no signal at all. Live announcements need a connection to arrive in real time, but everything else keeps working in poor signal. We've built ShowDayGuide™ specifically for showgrounds where 5,000 phones overwhelm a rural cell tower.
Does it work on my phone? I've got an older Android / iPhone.
If your phone can open this page, ShowDayGuide™ will work on it. It runs in any modern mobile browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Samsung Internet) and doesn't need recent hardware. Reminders need a browser that supports push notifications, which all browsers from the last 5+ years support.
Is it suitable for children to use?
Yes. There's no login, no personal data collected, no chat features, no user-generated content. It's essentially a digital map and schedule of the show you're already at — appropriate for anyone old enough to use a phone. If you're sharing a phone with younger family members, they can use it freely.
What about my elderly parent who's not great with tech?
ShowDayGuide™ is designed to be at-a-glance useful. The map shows where things are, the schedule shows what's on, and reminders work without any setup beyond one tap. There's no menu system, no settings to configure. If they can open a web link, they can use it. Many shows print the QR code prominently on the printed programme cover for exactly this reason — point camera, tap link, done.
Will it drain my battery?
It uses about as much battery as opening a webpage. ShowDayGuide™ doesn't run constantly in the background. The GPS only activates when you're actively looking at the map. We've tested it heavily on long show days — most visitors finish the day with plenty of battery left.
What if my show isn't on ShowDayGuide™ yet?
If a show isn't on the platform, you won't find it in our directory. We're growing quickly, but we don't claim to cover every UK show yet. If your favourite show isn't on ShowDayGuide™, you could let the organiser know — they can sign up and have their show ready in time for next year.
Does this replace the printed programme?
No — it works alongside it. Many shows still print a paper programme and we think that's lovely. ShowDayGuide™ adds the interactive layer: GPS, live updates, reminders, search, and offline access. Take both if your show offers both. The QR code on the printed programme typically opens the digital guide directly.
