Christmas Markets in Cheshire 2026

Updated 28 October 2026

4 Christmas markets and fairs in Cheshire are listed for 2026, at Arley Hall near Northwich and in Knutsford, and The Arley Shopping Spectacular opens first, on Friday 20 November. Arley Hall, which has been a family home since the 1400s, sets out stalls indoors and outside for three days, and its ticket includes the gardens, the Woodland Walk and the Grove arboretum. At Tatton Park in Knutsford, the Christmas Gift Fair is held in the Tenants Hall, a Mansion wing not usually open to the public, for four days at the end of November. On the first weekend of December, Knutsford Christmas Market fills Princess Street with stalls, and a funfair and Santa's Grotto join them.

Questions about Christmas markets in Cheshire

When do Christmas markets start in Cheshire?

In 2026 The Arley Shopping Spectacular opens first, running from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November, 10am to 4pm each day. The Tatton Park Christmas Gift Fair follows from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November, and Knutsford Christmas Market is on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December. The dates for each are on its card.

Are dogs allowed at Christmas markets in Cheshire?

Arley and Tatton Park welcome dogs in their grounds, but neither has said whether dogs may come to the stalls. At Arley, dogs on a lead are welcome in the formal gardens, the Grove and the Woodland Walk, and in the Café and Gift Shop, though not in the Hall. Tatton welcomes dogs in its parkland and, on short leads, in its formal gardens, but admits only assistance dogs to the Mansion, and its guidance does not say whether dogs may enter the Tenants Hall, where the fair is held. Knutsford Christmas Market has not confirmed a dog rule.

Which Christmas markets in Cheshire are free to enter?

The Tatton Park Christmas Gift Fair is free to enter and needs no booking, though anyone driving into the park pays the parkland vehicle charge; people on foot or by bicycle enter the parkland free. The Arley Shopping Spectacular sells tickets, which include the gardens and parking, and children aged 4 to 16 go free. Knutsford Christmas Market has not published an entry price.

Is there parking at Christmas markets in Cheshire?

Yes. Parking at Arley is free with a Shopping Spectacular ticket. At Tatton Park, cars park in the main parking area by the Stableyard and Mansion, a short walk from the Tenants Hall, and pay the parkland vehicle charge, which is lower for Blue Badge holders. For Knutsford Christmas Market, a free shuttle bus carries visitors from Booths Hall to Knutsford Bus Station throughout the market weekend.

Can I get to Christmas markets in Cheshire without a car?

For Tatton Park, yes. The park's Knutsford Gate is about half a mile from Knutsford railway station, and from the gate the walk across the estate to the Mansion is about two miles; several bus routes also serve Knutsford. Arley and Knutsford Christmas Market have published no train or bus details beyond Knutsford's park and ride shuttle.

Are Christmas markets in Cheshire wheelchair accessible?

Arley and Tatton Park have published some access details for their estates; Knutsford Christmas Market has not confirmed any. At Arley the garden is described as fully accessible, disabled toilets are provided, and both manual and motorised wheelchairs can be hired from the shop, though Arley has not given access details for the stall areas. At Tatton, the walk from the main car park to the Tenants Hall, beside the Mansion, is short, and Tatton mentions some uneven surfaces and historic cobbles; it lists accessible toilets at the Stableyard and the Knutsford Entrance, and Blue Badge parking in the main car park, but that information is about the park as a whole, the Mansion and the Gardens, not the Tenants Hall itself.

Every market is listed from the details its organisers and venues publish.
