Wensleydale Show
Held in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on the edge of the market town of Leyburn, the Wensleydale Show is a traditional one-day agricultural show celebrating the finest of Dales farming and rural craft. Cattle, sheep and both light and heavy horses fill the rings, alongside carriage driving, sheepdog trials, dry stone walling demonstrations, terrier racing, vintage tractors and cars, and a flower and vegetable show. Local character runs right through the day — from the distinctive Wensleydale Sheep classes to the walking-stick competitions and the sound of the Leyburn Band. With more than 200 trade stands, handicrafts and homecrafts displays, a children's fun area with inflatables, and a relaxed Dales atmosphere, it is a proper family day out. The showground sits just off the A6108 on the Leyburn-to-Bellerby road, an easy and scenic journey into one of the most beautiful corners of North Yorkshire.
