Reeth Show
Set in the heart of Swaledale on the August Bank Holiday Monday, the Reeth Show is a traditional Dales agricultural show that has been a fixture of the village calendar since 1900. The day opens in fine Dales style, with Reeth Brass Band parading through the village at the head of the show committee and judges. On the show field there are horse and pony classes — including open driving and the ever-popular mounted fancy dress — a sheep section, vintage tractors, and a main marquee packed with horticulture, produce, handicrafts and photography. Children's rides and a licensed bar add to the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, while above the field the fell race up Fremington Edge offers a proper test of stamina against a stunning Swaledale backdrop. Compact, characterful and welcoming, Reeth Show is a wonderful way to spend the bank holiday in one of the most beautiful dales in Yorkshire.
