Nidderdale Show
Affectionately known as 'Pateley Show', the Nidderdale Show is one of North Yorkshire's foremost agricultural shows and traditionally marks the close of the Dales show season. Held on a 70-acre showground at Bewerley Park, on the edge of Pateley Bridge, it draws crowds of around 15,000 for a full day of livestock, horse and dog classes, sheepdog trials, show jumping and one of the finest displays of animals anywhere in the country. Because it falls at the end of the season, competitors arrive with their stock in peak condition — to win at Nidderdale is the mark of a true champion. Beyond the rings there are more than 170 trade stands, a produce and handicrafts marquee, cookery demonstrations, an exhibition cricket match and a funfair that runs in the days leading up to the show. With free parking, a free shuttle bus from Bewerley village and a setting deep in the Yorkshire Dales, it is a genuine country day out for families, farmers and visitors alike.
