Nidderdale Show
Long known locally as Pateley Show, the Nidderdale Show traditionally closes the agricultural show season, filling Bewerley Park on the edge of Pateley Bridge with one of the larger shows in the Dales. Cattle, sheep, pigs, pygmy goats and horses fill the rings, with show jumping, sheepdog trials and dry stone walling, and a marquee of produce, handicrafts, horticulture and photography. Well over a hundred trade stands line the ground, there's a funfair, and food is served all day. Parking is free, with a tractor-and-trailer park and ride from the Bewerley car parks, and dogs are welcome on a short lead, so it's a fine way to see the season out in Nidderdale.
