Trawden Agricultural Show
Trawden Agricultural Show puts well over a thousand animals on show at the recreation ground in Trawden, near Colne in Pendle, and a local society has run it for more than 30 years. There are cattle, sheep, goats and poultry, light and heavy horses and Shetlands, vintage vehicles, dry stone walling, horticulture, arts and crafts and children's classes, plus a fell race. Bring the dog for the novelty dog classes and terrier racing, and leave time for the main-ring attractions, the craft marquee and more than 70 trade stands. With free parking next to the showground and free buses from Colne station, it's an easy August Sunday out in the Lancashire hills.
