Tockwith Show
Tockwith Show began as a horticultural show just after the Second World War and has grown into a full agricultural show, held on the first Sunday in August on its show field on Cattal Moor Lane, between York and Wetherby. Around 300 classes cover sheep, pigs, heavy horses, horse and pony showing, a gymkhana, vintage tractors and classic vehicles, farm produce, horticulture, preserves, crafts, poetry, pets and children's work. It's a dog-friendly day, with fun dog classes, a dog scurry and the dog dash to enter, and there's a farmers' market, working crafts and locally sourced food to enjoy. Run by a charitable society, it's a proper community show.
