Slaley Show
Slaley Show is a traditional country show held in August on its show field at Townhead, on the edge of Slaley village near Hexham in Northumberland. The date for 2027 is expected to be the second Saturday in August, to be confirmed by the show. Its roots go back to 1845, when it began as a floral and horticultural society show, and it has been on the Townhead field since 1916. It is a working agricultural show and a family day out in one: sheep and horse classes, show jumping and working hunter, a busy horticulture and handicrafts marquee, woodwork and walking sticks, and a dog show taking entries on the day. Around the rings there are heavy horse demonstrations, vintage tractors and cars, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, children's sports, trade and craft stands, food and a bar.
