Sedgefield Show
Sedgefield Show is a one-day agricultural show held each August on the Robert Brown Showfield, just off West Park Lane in Sedgefield, County Durham. The 2027 show is expected on Saturday 14 August, to be confirmed by the show. Local farmers founded it in the 19th century to promote their livestock and the town, and the present society has run it on the same field, once a meadow behind the Hardwick Arms, since 1900. It is a full working show: cattle, sheep and equine classes, an open dog show and a companion dog show, farm produce, horticulture, home and handicraft, and vintage tractors. Around the rings there are trade stands, a food court, a children's tent and fairground rides, all run by a large team of volunteers.
