Ripley Show is held on the second Sunday in August in the parkland of Ripley Castle, near Harrogate, on a showfield lent by the castle estate. Cattle, sheep and fleeces, horses and ponies, heavy horses, donkeys and driving classes fill the rings, and there are farm produce, baking, wine, honey, handicraft, photography, Women's Institute, Young Farmers and children's classes. Dogs can join in on the day, with a fun dog show, dog agility, a gun dog retrieve and terrier racing, alongside sheepdog trials, a hound parade and vintage cars and tractors. With trade stands, food and free parking in a castle park, it's a lovely summer Sunday out.
