The Northumberland County Show is a one-day agricultural show held each spring at Bywell, near Stocksfield in the Tyne Valley, and run by the Tynedale Agricultural Society. In 2027 it is on Saturday 29 May, opening at 9am. It is a full county show: dairy and beef cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, alpacas, poultry, rabbits and cavies, heavy horses, a large horse and pony section across several rings, British Showjumping, sheep shearing and a farriers' competition. Around the ground there are rows of trade stands, an indoor shopping and craft marquee, a food marquee for producers from the north, a free Farm Discovery Area for families, forestry and vintage tractor displays, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, live music, a fairground, a fun dog show and a gundog scurry.

Notes
The showground is farmland: uneven, sloping in places, slippery when wet and spread out, so expect a fair amount of walking. There are no mobility scooters on site, but you can bring your own. Blue badge holders are directed to parking next to the main entrance. Accessible toilets are provided around the site, on the most level ground available, and disabled changing facilities are available (ask at the Secretary's Office). There's no designated disabled viewing area. Sunflower lanyards are available at the information points, there's a quiet area behind the Castle Gate information point, and essential companions and carers can get a discounted ticket online.

Can I get there by train or bus?
Yes. Stocksfield station, on the Newcastle–Carlisle line, is a short walk away, and in 2026 extra trains ran on the day. Regular buses also run to Stocksfield.
Is parking free?
Yes. There are over 10,000 free spaces to the north and east of the showground and south of Bywell Bridge; follow the yellow show signs. A quick-exit car park near Stocksfield is about an eight-minute walk from the showground. Blue badge holders are directed to parking next to the main entrance.
How much are tickets?
2027 prices haven't been published yet; tickets and membership go on sale through the show's website. For 2026, advance tickets were £16 for adults, £15 for OAPs, £6 for children and £45 for a family, and gate prices were £20, £18, £8 and £55. Essential companions and carers can get a discounted ticket online with proof of eligibility.
