Moffat Show

Saturday 28 August 2027
Raehills Meadows, St Ann's, Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway(DG11 1HQ)

Cattle, sheep and heavy horses are all judged at the Moffat Show Society's open show, held at Raehills Meadows near Moffat. Ayrshire, Galloway, Shorthorn and Holstein cattle go before the judges, including a class kept for Holstein dairy herds local to Lockerbie, Lochmaben and Moffat, and the sheep run from Hill Cheviot and Blackface to Zwartble and Kerry Hill. Young handlers get classes of their own, and the heavy horses take the main ring once the cattle are done. Wander on to find vintage tractors (garden ones too), walking and lambing sticks, a craft tent, trade stands and marquees of baking, knitting, flowers and vegetables, with classes for children. Bring your dog: the dog show has a best visitor class, and entries are taken at the ring on the day.
