Malham Show
Malham Show sits beneath Malham Cove on the August bank holiday Saturday, on the showfield in the village that its committee bought in the late 1970s. It began in 1907 as a sports day at nearby Airton and has been at Malham since 1960. It's a working Dales show, with sheep, cattle and horses, show jumping and working hunter, dry stone walling, and a marquee of produce, crafts and horticulture. Bring the dog for the fun dog show in the main ring, and stay for the fell races, the children's sports and fancy dress, the egg-throwing contest and the charity auction of produce at the end of the day. With food stalls, a bar and trade stands, it's a classic Yorkshire Dales day out.
