Kilnsey Show
Held beneath the great limestone face of Kilnsey Crag in Upper Wharfedale, Kilnsey Show has been a fixture of the Dales calendar since 1897, on the Tuesday after the August bank holiday. Sheep and cattle classes sit alongside horses and harness racing, sheepdog trials, speed shearing, dry stone walling, farm crops, walking sticks and vintage tractors and cars. The Crag Race, part of the show since the very first one, sends fell runners straight up the side of the crag, and there are produce, handicraft and horticulture classes, trade stands and an artisan food tent. It's run by the Upper Wharfedale Agricultural Society, about twelve miles north of Skipton. Please note the show doesn't allow visitors' dogs; guide and service dogs are welcome.
