Great Eccleston Show
Great Eccleston Show began in 1853 as the Rawcliffe Farmers Club, holding ploughing matches and a cattle show, and today it fills a whole July weekend at its showground beside the A586 on the Fylde, near Preston. Shire and light horses, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, pygmy goats and poultry are joined by craft and horticulture classes, and there's tractor pulling, a sheep show, a tug of war and a food theatre with guest chefs alongside the food hall. There's a companion dog show on the Saturday, plenty of trade stands and free parking all weekend, and you can camp if you'd like to stay over and make a weekend of it.
