Garstang Show
Garstang's agricultural society was formed in 1809 and held its first show in 1813, and today's show still fills the Garstang Showfield, on the edge of the town between Preston and Lancaster, each summer. The rings are busy with light and heavy horses, cattle, sheep, pygmy goats, poultry and rabbits, and there's a big horticulture and baking marquee. Don't miss the grand parade of champions and vintage vehicles, or the sheep show introducing different breeds. Bring the dog for the fun dog show, with entries on the day and a fun agility course, then browse the artisan food hall, craft tent and trade stands while the children enjoy the fairground rides. Parking is free.
