Gargrave Show
Gargrave Show grew out of the village's flower show, which became a horticultural show in 1903, and livestock joined after the Second World War to give it its present shape. Each August it fills the field in front of Eshton Hall, just outside the village of Gargrave in North Yorkshire. The rings hold equine, cattle and sheep classes, a fun dog show and a grand parade, with vintage cars and tractors on parade, while the marquees carry horticulture, baking, produce, handicraft and children's classes. A fell race for runners of all ages starts from the main ring, and there's local food and children's sports, with a free shuttle bus from the village. It's a dog-friendly show, so bring the dog along on a lead.
