Emley Show
Emley Show has been part of village life since 1893, and each August it fills Factory Farm on Emley Moor, near Huddersfield, with a day of farming, home crafts and fun, run by its committee and local volunteers. Several rings host cattle, sheep, horses and goats, show jumping, sheep shearing and farrier demonstrations, with cage birds and hamsters, vintage tractors, classic cars and motorbikes, and home, hobby and produce classes from flowers and honey to woodcraft and photography. Bring the dog for the fun dog show, which includes an agility class, then browse the artisan market and trade stands. When the gates close, the Emley Stomp carries on into the evening with live music, a bar and street food.
