Eggleston Show
Eggleston Show is the annual one-day show of the Eggleston Agricultural Society, founded in 1864. It is held at Hayberries Farm, Mickleton, near Barnard Castle in Teesdale. The 2026 show, on Saturday 19 September, was its 150th, and the 2027 show is expected on the third Saturday in September, to be confirmed by the society. It is a traditional dales show with cattle, sheep, horses, ponies and donkeys, poultry, vintage tractors, and hay and field produce, plus marquees of vegetables, flowers, baking, preserves, knitting and needlework, photography, art and dressed walking sticks, and classes for children. Out on the field there are sheepdog demonstrations through the day, a dog show taking entries on the day, free children's activities, trade stands with local produce, a licensed bar and local caterers.
