Borrowby Show
Borrowby Show is a combined show and gymkhana near Thirsk, held each summer at the Hillside Rural Activities Park at Knayton and run by the Borrowby agricultural and horticultural society. There's horse and pony showing, show jumping and a gymkhana, sheep, grain and roots, rabbits and cavies, vintage and classic tractors, and a busy tent of produce, flowers, vegetables, handicrafts, art, photography and children's entries. In the afternoon the fun dog show takes entries on the day, with classes from waggiest tail to pub dog of the year, and there's a 5k road race, a tug of war and a scarecrow competition. It's a real village show with something for the whole family.
