When is Ayr County Show 2027?
It is expected on Saturday 8 May 2027. The show has not yet announced its 2027 date, so check its website before you travel.
Where is it held?
At Ayr Racecourse, Craigie Road, Ayr, South Ayrshire, KA8 0HA. The show says the event will be signposted.
How do I get there, and where do I park?
There is a car park on the Show Field, entered from Craigie Road (Gate A); in 2026 it cost £5 per car. The show says Stagecoach runs local services to and from Ayr, with fares on Stagecoach's West Scotland guide page. Blue badge holders are directed to disabled parking near the main entrance (see accessibility). Check the show's website for 2027 parking details.
How much are tickets?
Prices for 2027 are not yet published. In 2026 an adult ticket was £16 plus booking fee online until 30 April, then £20 plus booking fee online, and £20 at the gate; children aged 15 and under were free with an adult. In 2026 members of the Ayrshire Agricultural Association were admitted free. Tickets were sold online through the show's website.
What time does it open?
In 2026 the gates opened at 9.00am and the show normally ran until around 5pm. Check the show's website for 2027 times.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome in the Show Field but must be kept on a short lead at all times, and owners must clean up after them. Dogs are not allowed in the Cattle or Poultry Marquees, and should not be left in a car on a hot day. The show has not published any other dog rules.
Is it accessible?
Blue badge holders should show their badge to the parking attendants and will be directed to disabled parking near the main entrance. The show is held in fields, and the show asks visitors to judge for themselves how easily they can get around, especially in wet weather when there may be some mud. Some exhibits are in tents, but the Main Ring and most activities are outdoors whatever the weather, so bring a jacket and wellies. The show does not mention accessible toilets; ask the show through its website before you travel.
What food and drink is there?
The show describes a great range of stalls, many of them local, plus a bar and catering facilities, under its Field to Fork theme. In 2026 there was no cash machine on site; the nearest is at Tesco.
What is there to see?
Livestock judging (cattle, sheep and Clydesdale horses), light horse and pony classes, British Show Jumping, Sticks & Crooks, goats, and the Grand Parade of Livestock. There is also a vintage tractor display, the TT Ayr trucks and tractors show, SWI and Young Farmers competitions, a children's marquee and over 100 trade stands.
How do I enter a class or take a trade stand?
Schedules and online entry links for the livestock, light horse and pony, Sticks & Crooks, TT Ayr trucks and tractors and British Show Jumping sections are on the Exhibitors Info page of the show's website; the schedules there are for 2026, and 2027 schedules are not yet published. Trade and food stand enquiries go through the online form on the show's Trade/Food Stands page; rates are not published.
