Arthington Show
Arthington Show has been part of the Wharfedale summer for more than a century, held each August on its showground on Pool Road, just outside Otley. Sheep and pigs, heavy horses, driving, in-hand and ridden horse and pony classes and a gymkhana fill the rings, and there's a fun dog show open to all dogs. The tents carry horticulture, flower arranging, produce, eggs, arts and crafts and photography, and there's even a meadow hay class. Vintage tractors and machinery, main-ring entertainment, fairground rides, children's games and races, and food and trade stands complete a proper Yorkshire Sunday out, with free parking by the entrance.
