Wells Christmas Market
This December the city of Wells dresses for Christmas, with lights strung along the High Street and shop windows decked out for the season. On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, more than 200 artisan stalls take over the old streets, with gifts, food, drink and festive treats to pick up. On the Saturday, Wells City Band plays carols in the Town Hall, once in the late morning and again over lunchtime, while Wells Museum holds a Christmas craft market of its own on both days. Between the stalls, Wells has its own independent cafés and shops to browse. Services from Bath and Bristol arrive at Wells Bus Station, about five minutes on foot from the Market Place.
