Stokesley Show
The Stokesley Show is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the north of England, drawing some 20,000 visitors each year to the showground on the edge of the market town of Stokesley, between the North York Moors and the Cleveland Hills. Founded in 1859, it has well over 160 years of history and brings together more than 2,500 animals and 5,000 competition entries in a single day. The rings are filled with horses, cattle, sheep and goats, while the marquees and stands host vintage machinery, dairy produce, handicrafts, farm produce, horticulture and a popular fur and feather section with pigeons, rabbits, cavies and ferrets. There are dog showing and dog agility classes you can enter on the day, lively main-ring entertainment and a 'Scrumptiously Stokesley' food hall championing local producers, alongside more than 130 trade stands. With the traditional Stokesley Fair running in the town the same week, it makes for a full and memorable few days in this corner of North Yorkshire.
