Ryedale Show

Tuesday 28 July 2026
Duncombe Park, Helmsley, North Yorkshire(YO62 5EB)

The Ryedale Show is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the north of England, and 2026 marks a special chapter — its return to Duncombe Park, Helmsley, a former home it last occupied sixty years ago. Established in 1855 and held every year on the last Tuesday of July, it is a traditional show renowned for the high standard of its livestock entries and the warmth of its atmosphere; exhibitors often describe the day as feeling like a family gathering. Eight rings run across the showground with classes for cattle, horses, sheep, pigs and goats, alongside sheepdog trials, scurry driving, a fun dog show, gundog displays, vintage tractors, a fur and feather tent, and children's competitions. Around 200 quality trade and craft stands fill the showground, many returning year after year. The move to Duncombe Park brings level ground, concrete estate roadways and parking close to the show field — making 2026 an easier and more accessible day out than ever for families and visitors of all abilities.

The Ryedale Show takes place on Tuesday 28 July 2026. It is always held on the last Tuesday of July, a fixture of the Ryedale calendar since the show was founded in 1855. Arriving earlier in the morning is wise — the gates are busiest between about 9:30am and noon.
Where is the Ryedale Show held in 2026?
For 2026 the Ryedale Show returns to Duncombe Park, Helmsley, North Yorkshire (postcode YO62 5EB) — a former home it last occupied sixty years ago. Note this is a change from its recent venue at Welburn Park, so if you have visited before, do follow the show's signs and traffic stewards rather than older directions. There is free parking on the estate, close to the show field.
How much are tickets for the Ryedale Show?
Tickets can be bought at the gate on the day — by card payment only. On-the-day prices are £19 per adult (an accompanying carer also goes for the £19 adult price), £10 per child, free for under-5s, and £55 for a family of two adults and up to three children. Discounted Early Bird tickets — 20% off — are available in advance up to and including 10 July, and let you use the fast-track lane on the day.
Can I take my dog to the Ryedale Show?
Yes — dogs are welcome, and there is even a fun dog show open to visitors. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times around the showground, and are not permitted inside the marquees, food areas or livestock areas. Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere.
What is there to see and do at the Ryedale Show, and is it accessible?
With eight rings, it is one of the largest one-day shows in the north of England — classes for cattle, horses, sheep, pigs and goats, sheepdog trials, scurry driving, gundog displays, vintage tractors, a fur and feather tent and children's competitions, plus around 200 trade and craft stands. The 2026 move to Duncombe Park also makes for an easier day out for visitors with mobility needs and families with pushchairs: level ground, concrete estate roadways, Blue Badge parking near the entrance, and parking kept away from public roads.
