Rydal Hall Christmas Craft Fair
Rydal Hall, a historic estate in the Lake District World Heritage Site, holds a Christmas craft fair over a weekend every November. Local makers sell handmade gifts across many crafts, among them ceramics, jewellery, textiles, woodwork and artwork, and there is food and drink on offer while you browse, with the Hall's café open daily too. In 1963 the Hall became a retreat house of the Diocese of Carlisle, and it stands in 30 acres of gardens, woodland and waterfalls, including gardens by the landscape architect Thomas Mawson. Entry to the fair is free, and the gardens are free to enter all year.
