When is the Rougham Arts & Crafts Fair?
Over five weekends in 2026: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, and Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December. It is open from 10am to 4pm on each day, and only at weekends. The makers change from weekend to weekend, and most are at the barn for one or two weekends.
How much does it cost to get in?
In 2026 a day ticket is £2.50 bought online in advance or £3 on the door, and a season ticket for all 10 days is £10 online or £12 on the door. Children aged 15 and under are admitted free. A day ticket covers the whole day until the fair closes at 4pm, you do not have to arrive at 10am, and you can come and go as often as you like that day. Buy tickets through the Rougham Estate website; refunds are given up to 3 full days before the day booked. Cards and cash are accepted.
Where is the fair held?
In Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (IP30 9HZ). The estate says the barn is just south of Junction 45 of the A14, about three miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Look for the entrance gates to a tree-lined avenue at the White House junction; the barn is down the avenue on the right.
Where do I park?
The estate says there is plenty of free parking on site, and asks drivers to keep to the 20mph limit. The car parks close when Roots Café closes and the entrance gates are locked after that.
Can I get there by bus or train?
The estate says the 377 (Bury St Edmunds to Bradfield St George) is the only bus serving the barn, running Monday to Saturday, and you get off at the Blackthorpe, White House stop. By rail, use Thurston Station, on the Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich line; the estate puts the walk from the station to the barn at about 40 minutes.
Are dogs allowed?
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the Arts and Crafts Fair. Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere.
Is the fair accessible?
The estate says disabled access is available and that wheelchairs are welcome everywhere at Blackthorpe Barn, which is step-free with every area inside accessible for wheelchairs. Accessible parking is near the entrance. There are two toilet areas at the barn, one in the courtyard and one in the café, and accessible toilets and two baby-changing units are available. It is a rural location and the paths can be muddy.
Where can I eat and drink?
Roots Café is at Blackthorpe Barn and is open daily; the estate lists food and drink among the crafts on sale at the fair.
What will I find at the fair?
Independent designer-makers selling their own handcrafted work directly to visitors inside the 16th century barn. The estate groups the makers by craft, from ceramics, jewellery, glass, leather, metalwork, woodwork and textiles to art and prints, stationery and books, beauty and wellbeing, and food and drink. Each maker is selected by the estate for quality and variety, and the mix changes each weekend. The makers are listed by weekend on the fair's pages on the estate website.
How do makers apply for a stall?
Makers apply through the Arts & Crafts Fair pages of the Rougham Estate website, where a 2026 application form is linked. The estate selects each designer-maker.
