Reading's Christmas Market
This winter Reading's Christmas Market takes over Broad Street, right in the middle of the Berkshire town, for some seven weeks from mid-November into the New Year. It is back for 2026, with food at its centre: German bratwurst, crêpes and waffles, hot sugared doughnuts, toasted marshmallows, giant cookies, handmade fudge and a cheese stall, while roasted chestnuts scent the air and a Christmas carvery serves something more filling. To drink there is Glühwein, or a mulled wine without the alcohol. Among the food, independent traders sell handcrafted gifts, Christmas stockings and decorations. It is free to wander, and from Monday to Saturday the stalls stay open until 8pm, so the market carries on into the evening.
