From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2026. Shoppers can visit on Friday 20 November from 1pm to 8pm, Saturday 21 November from 10am to 6pm and Sunday 22 November from 12 noon to 4pm.
Where is it held?
At Peterborough Cathedral, Minster Precincts, Peterborough, PE1 1XS. Stallholders are inside the Cathedral, with outdoor stalls and food vendors on the ground outside the front entrance.
How much are tickets, and how do I get one?
Shopper tickets for 2026 are £5 per adult plus a booking fee, and under 16s go free. You can book through the Cathedral's website, and the market's terms say visitors can also get in on arrival at the door. The market is a fundraiser, and the Cathedral says all proceeds from ticket sales and associated event income go to its charitable work, including looking after the historic building, worship and music, and education and community programmes.
What is there to see and buy?
Stalls of handmade and homemade gifts under the Cathedral's arches and old ceilings, where you can meet the makers and hear the stories behind their work. The Cathedral describes a mix of handmade crafts, artwork, seasonal gifts and homeware from makers and independent businesses, with music, lights and festive food.
Is there food and drink?
Food vendors are on the ground outside the front entrance. The market's terms say stalls cooking hot food to order must be outside, not in the Cathedral.
How do I get there, and where do I park?
The Cathedral says there is no general parking at the Cathedral. Blue Badge holders can find designated spaces within the Cathedral Precincts; the Cathedral Office on 01733 355315 can answer questions.
Can I bring my dog?
The market's information does not cover dogs. Guide dogs and assistance animals are welcome throughout the Cathedral. If you plan to bring any other dog, check with the Cathedral Office on 01733 355315 before you travel.
Is the market accessible for wheelchair users?
The Cathedral says the South Transept door provides level, step-free access, and a hearing loop is installed in the Nave. Blue Badge holders can find designated parking spaces within the Cathedral Precincts. The market's terms say a one-way visitor system will run through the Cathedral, that volunteer marshals will assist visitors, and that some areas may be dimly lit. For anything else, contact the Cathedral Office on 01733 355315.
Are there other Christmas events at the Cathedral that weekend?
The Cathedral lists two papercraft workshops for adults on Saturday 21 November 2026: a Papercut Nativity Bauble Workshop from 10am to 12 noon and a Partridge in a Pear Tree Papercraft Wreath Workshop from 1pm to 4pm. Its Christmas Tree Festival runs from 27 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, and Father Christmas in the Library and other Christmas music and theatre events are on its Christmas page.
How do I apply for a stall?
The Cathedral takes applications from makers and independent businesses through the stallholder application page on its website, after you read the terms and conditions. For 2026 the pitch fees, each plus a booking fee, are £150 for a single 6ft stall inside, £250 for a double 12ft stall inside, £100 for an outside stall and £110 for a food vendor. Outside pitches are ground space only, with no power, cover, chair or table. The page states no application deadline. To go on the 2027 list, email the Cathedral's markets address printed on that page.
