Grey's Monument, Grey Street, Grainger Street, Nelson Street and Old Eldon Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

Newcastle Christmas Market spreads its stalls across central Newcastle upon Tyne, round Grey's Monument and along Grainger, Grey and Nelson Streets. Over 70 traders take part, most of them from within 20 miles of the city centre. Grey Street is where to eat, with melting cheese, fondue, pizza and puddings, while Grainger Street and the Monument are for gifts, from handcrafted accessories to jewellery and locally made spirits. Around the Monument are the bookable igloo pods of the North Pole, and Moosenwirt, an Alpine pop-up bar. At Old Eldon Square, the Christmas Village has a lit-up carousel, a 22-metre Ferris wheel, storytelling with Father Christmas, a festive theatre show and cookie decorating at Mrs Claus' Bakery. The two rides run until New Year's Eve, bar Christmas Day.
