Manifold Valley Show

Saturday 14 August 2027
The Arbour, Ilam, Staffordshire(DE6 2BA)

Deep in the Manifold Valley, in the Peak District, Ilam hosts the agricultural show of the Staffordshire parishes along the River Manifold each August. The society behind it dates from 1980, and entries still come mostly from people who live in those parishes. Heavy horses, ponies, dressage and the Chase me Charlie share the day with cattle, sheep and poultry, a parade of hounds and gun dogs at work. Vintage tractors and stationary engines fill the bygones display, and the afternoon brings a tractor parade and a race to find the slowest machine. Dogs can chase rosettes in the fun dog show, and 40 classes of arts, crafts and home produce wait in the marquee. Parking is free, and a licensed bar and local producers' food make it a family day out.
