Kington Show claims the title of Herefordshire's biggest single-day farming show, put on each September by a team of volunteers at The Ovals Farm, Kington. Horse and livestock classes share the day with a horticulture tent full of produce, floral art, cakes, jams and chutneys. Sheep shearers compete from 9am to 6pm, Young Farmers clubs battle it out in contests as varied as stock judging and flower arranging, and there is a fun dog show too. Vintage tractors, classic cars and motorbikes gather for an afternoon parade round the main ring, where there is family entertainment all day. Browse more than 100 trade stands and a food and craft marquee, and raise a glass at the licensed bar. You can park for nothing, and a dog on a lead is welcome.
