Holkham, the North Norfolk estate with a stately home, parkland roamed by deer and a beach behind dunes and pine woods, gives three days in December to the Holkham Christmas Market. More than 60 producers take part, some under cover in the Lady Elizabeth Wing, others in festive chalets outside, selling food, drink and gifts. Among them you'll find pies, puddings, cheese, Holkham game, cookies, bread and beer from Wildcraft Brewery, with street food to eat there and then and live music playing while you browse. Entry is free, and a dog on a lead can join you at the stalls outdoors. On the Saturday, Wells-next-the-Sea, two miles away, holds Wells Christmastide, with Santa arriving by boat.
