For a day in early December, Haslemere gives its town centre over to Christmas. Cars are kept out from early morning until late evening while Haslemere Events stages its 25th Christmas Market, with more than 100 stalls booked along West Street and the High Street, and Father Christmas arriving at the Haslemere Museum. Browse for presents, pick up something hot to eat or drink from stalls scattered through the streets, and look for the South West Surrey Farmers' Market in its regular place on West Street. There are rides for youngsters and grown-ups alike in the High Street, and many of the town's own shops open for the day too. Free Hoppa buses bring visitors in from the station, Lion Green, St Christopher's Green and Weydown Road car park.
