Gilsland Agricultural Show

Sunday 1 August 2027 (to be confirmed)
Triermain Farm, Gilsland, Cumbria(CA8 7DG)

Gilsland Agricultural Show dates from 1914 and is still organised by volunteers, with exhibitors and helpers who often carry on what their families did at earlier shows. The field at Triermain Farm lies about two miles out of Gilsland on the Birdoswald road. Sheep, cattle, Clydesdales and ponies are judged there, and the best meet in a Champion of Champions that includes the dogs. Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling is part of the day, the stick classes take in shepherd's crooks and hornheads, and the dog show has fun classes such as the waggiest tail or the dog most like its owner, entered on the day. Children's sports, local stalls around the field and free parking complete a Cumbrian farming day.
