Cornish Winter Fair
Farming and food take centre stage at the Cornish Winter Fair, held each year by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Whitecross, Wadebridge. Over 10,000 people went to the last fair, and it is held mainly indoors. On Saturday the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show, a livestock competition nearly 150 years old, has classes for cattle, sheep, produce, craft and cookery, plus children, schools, the Women's Institute and Young Farmers' Clubs. The Winter Market runs on both days, with over 150 stands selling food, drink and crafts. Also on offer are a discovery zone, a rare breeds exhibit and Santa's Grotto. Parking and entry are free, and the fair promotes itself as a place to start the Christmas shopping.
