When is the Christmas Market at Chatsworth?
Saturday 7 November to Sunday 13 December 2026. The market is open from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and from 10am to 6pm Friday to Sunday.
Where is it?
On Lodge Hill at Chatsworth, between the Stables and the house entrance, in Derbyshire. Chatsworth gives DE45 1PP as the postcode for the house car park and what3words ///unicorns.questions.rests.
How do I get there?
Chatsworth says that from the M1 you take junction 29 for Chesterfield and follow the brown signs (16 miles), from Matlock you take the A6 then the B6012 (8 miles), and from Manchester the A6 and A623 (38 miles). Your sat nav may point you to the Golden Gates, which are for authorised access only: continue through Baslow and follow the brown signs for the public entrance on the B6012. Chatsworth also lists bus services that stop at Chatsworth and at Baslow, Pilsley and Edensor; they are run by the bus operators, so check their timetables.
Is entry free, and do I need to book?
Yes, entry to the market is free. You do need a car park ticket booked in advance through the Chatsworth website, because tickets cannot be bought at the gate and are scanned on entry. In 2026 the full-day ticket is from £25 per car and the ticket for arrivals after 3pm is from £15 per car; Chatsworth Friends and Patrons park free but still book. A booking can be moved to another date and entry time for a £5 fee, and Chatsworth does not offer refunds.
Where do I park, and what is the Park and Ride?
When the main car park is full, cars are directed to trackways across the parkland and a tractor and trailer shuttle runs between numbered stops and the market. Wear sturdy footwear: Chatsworth warns that the ground can be muddy and the trackways slippery. A separate Park and Ride runs from the Calton Lees Garden Centre car park (postcode DE4 2NX, off the B6012 between Edensor and Beeley) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7 November to 13 December. In 2026 it costs £20 per vehicle on Fridays and £25 on Saturdays and Sundays, booked in advance through the Chatsworth website, and the bus runs from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm; the last bus back leaves at 5pm. The shuttle bus is not wheelchair accessible, and you should check with Chatsworth before travelling with a dog on it.
Does the car park ticket include the house and garden?
No. A market car park ticket does not cover the house, garden, farmyard or adventure playground. Those need a Christmas at Chatsworth ticket bought online in advance, and between 7 November and 13 December that ticket also includes the market.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Chatsworth says well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome at the Christmas market, and that it can get very busy.
What is there to eat and drink?
There are outdoor bars serving mulled wine and German beer, and food stalls selling gourmet burgers and sausages, hot pork rolls, pancakes and churros. The Cavendish restaurant takes bookings for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea.
Is it accessible for wheelchair users?
The market is on an incline, and ramps can be requested from any team member in a Chatsworth hi-vis top. Accessible toilets, including a Changing Places facility, are near the house entrance at the bottom of Lodge Hill. There is disabled parking in the main car park, but everyone, including blue badge holders, must book a car park ticket in advance and show the blue badge on arrival. When that area is full, a wheelchair-accessible shuttle serves nearby parkland parking. Chatsworth cannot guarantee a space close to the house or the toilets and baby changing facilities, and has no dedicated parent and child parking.
What will I find at the market, and how do I get a stall?
More than 100 stalls sell Christmas gifts and decorations, with live music and seasonal food and drink. The Stables shop sells Chatsworth's own ranges. Enquiries about a trade stand go to the email address in the Trade Stand Enquiries section of the market page on the Chatsworth website.
