Curly Magpie Christmas Markets at Calke

27 November – 23 December 2026
Riding School, Calke Abbey, Ticknall, Derbyshire(DE73 7JF)

Open daily for the first time in 2026, the Christmas market in the Riding School at Calke Abbey, the National Trust estate at Ticknall in Derbyshire, runs from late November until 23 December. The stalls change as the weeks go by, with makers and creators from the area taking turns, and handmade gifts from artisans sit beside food and drink from local suppliers. The Riding School is quieter on weekdays. Around the market, St Giles Church and selected rooms of the house are dressed for Christmas, and the tunnels glow with seasonal lighting. To eat, there are pigs in blankets from the Piggy Pod on weekends, festive dishes from the Restaurant, and seasonal treats with warm food and drink in the Stableyards. A single admission covers the market, house, tunnels and wider estate.
