Blair Castle Christmas Market
Blair Castle, at Blair Atholl in rural Perthshire, dates largely from the 15th century and sits within a landscape laid out in the 1700s. For three days in November its Christmas market fills the castle's Banvie Hall ballroom and a village of tents outside. Makers bring woodwork and metalwork, antler art, ceramics, knitwear and silk scarves, with candles, soaps and skincare made in Scotland. To eat and drink there is chocolate, preserves, game pies and sausages, gins and liqueurs, plus street food, and the castle restaurant serves homemade food and drinks, hot and cold, made with local ingredients. The castle is decorated for the season, with a self-guided tour on a separate ticket. Dogs can join you around the outdoor stalls and gardens, and under-16s get into the market free.
