When is Beverley Festival of Christmas 2026?
On Sunday 13 December 2026, from 10am to 4pm.
How much does it cost to go in?
Entry is free.
Where is the festival?
It fills the centre of Beverley. There are three Victorian-style Christmas market areas, in Saturday Market, Wednesday Market and North Bar, with entertainment in and around them. Flemingate Shopping Centre has its own Christmas market stalls.
What time is the parade, and where can I see Santa?
The parade leaves Wednesday Market at 10am and goes down Toll Gavel to Saturday Market. Santa leads it with his reindeer, with live music, comedy acts, majorettes, Bernese Mountain Dogs and more. Afterwards Santa and the reindeer stay in Saturday Market until mid-afternoon. Arrive early to get a good spot for the parade.
What is there to do besides the stalls?
Fairground rides, birds of prey on display, face painting, ice sculptures, brass bands and carol singers. St Mary's Church on North Bar Within has short carol services and children's activities, and the Minster's Christmas Tree Festival is nearby. A self-guided Reindeer Rampage trail runs through the town's independent shops.
How many stalls are there?
The festival says there are more than 120 stalls across the town centre, selling handmade gifts, artisan food, Christmas decorations and locally made produce.
How do I get there, and where can I park?
The festival strongly recommends public transport. Beverley railway station is about a 5-minute walk from the town centre and the bus station is about a minute from the festival. Car parking spaces in the town are limited, and there will be road closures and parking suspensions on the day. A free park and ride runs from Beverley Racecourse, York Road, HU17 8QZ, with parking for 500 cars; buses run about every 10 to 15 minutes, the first at 9am and the last back from Beverley at 5pm, dropping off on Wylies Road outside North Bar.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Keep your dog close, especially around the live reindeer and fairground rides, and clean up after it.
Is the festival accessible?
The festival aims to be welcoming to everyone. Parts of Beverley have cobbled or uneven surfaces, narrow streets, busy pedestrian areas and temporary stalls, rides and barriers, and the main market areas can be very crowded, so allow extra time. Princes Gardens Car Park, off Champney Road, HU17 8HS, is set aside for Blue Badge holders. Public toilets are on Lord Roberts Road, at Beverley railway station, on Sow Hill Road and on Dyer Lane. There is a first aid and lost children point in Saturday Market, near the Market Cross, and stewards in high-visibility jackets are on site.
Should I bring cash?
Yes, bring cash as well as cards. Many independent stallholders prefer cash or have limited card facilities.
