SUMMARY:Stithians Show
LOCATION:The Showground\, Stithians\, Cornwall\, TR3 7DP
DESCRIPTION:Stithians Show has been running in Cornwall since 1834\, when l
ocal parishioners staged a contest over the quality of their produce and l
ivestock. That contest still anchors the day: cattle\, sheep\, pigs\, goat
s and poultry are judged alongside cage birds\, pigeons\, guinea pigs\, ho
rticulture\, arts\, crafts and cookery. The old march through the village
ended when the show moved to its own showground\, but its officials still
walk in procession from the main entrance to the flagpoles to open the day
